• Integrity

An honest, independent voice in parliament for us all.

We all want to live in a country where we can trust that our local member is honest, reliable, and actively serves and advocates for the needs of their community to parliament.

Unfortunately, people have lost trust in the integrity of politicians and the systems that keep them accountable to the people they represent.

As your elected member, I will push for independent funding of the regulatory bodies that oversee ethical behaviour in parliament. This will force elected representatives to be transparent and sincere in the way that they serve their communities, so that all Victorians can feel empowered and heard.

  • Community

No one left behind as we grow.

It is important for all of us to feel like we belong in a community that values our wellbeing, opportunities, and connectedness.

While the size of our community has grown exponentially in recent years, investment in appropriate infrastructure and services to meet these needs has lagged. I’m not a developer. Big development is destroying Narracan by only serving the big end of town, and not investing in the services that are desperately needed to support our growing community.

We need a new hospital. A Labor government will not give a new hospital to a Liberal seat. If elected as an Independent, I can make sure that our community’s needs are not held as political ransom between major parties. I will fight for further investment in appropriate services, training, and opportunities to prioritise the health and wellbeing of our growing community.

  • Environment

Protecting our future and preserving our home.

Narracan is home to some of the most beautiful natural environments in Victoria. Like you, I feel privileged to call this place my home, and want to preserve the natural beauty around us for my children and grandchildren.

Obviously, we can no longer rely on coal generation - but for a century this industry has been at the centre of our community’s livelihood.

An entirely new renewable industry needs to be created that supports this workforce and simultaneously protects our environment. As a community, we all deserve to be part of that. I will call for equitable distribution of resources across all impacted communities, and ensure Narracan has a voice in determining the future of our home.

  • Equality

Making our community a safe and inclusive place for everyone.

Everyone in our community deserves to be respected, cared for, and loved.

Unfortunately, Narracan has one of the highest rates of gender-based violence in the state, because there’s still a lot of pressure on men to adhere to unhealthy masculine stereotypes in our community.

As your elected member, I pledge to be a healthy role model and to open meaningful conversation in the public space about the impacts of these stereotypes on people of all genders. I will invest in local agencies tackling gender-based violence by increasing resourcing and training opportunities. Everyone should feel comfortable and safe to be exactly who they are, regardless of their gender.
